Professionalism, Integrity, and Ethics in the Macedonian Assembly

To support the Macedonian Parliament and strengthen its legitimacy by endorsing professionalism, work ethics, and integrity. Ethics regulations particularly are seen as strongly promoting trust in democracies, and in Macedonia this can help fight corruption, raise accountability and trust, professionalize politics, and meet international standards.

Key elements

  • Three training courses on ethics and integrity for parliamentary staffers.

  • Two training-of-trainers workshops for staff of the Parliamentary Institute in order to make possible the in-house instruction to new staffers on ethical codes.

  • Two expert meetings between former European MPs and the Macedonian Secretary-General to recommend how to deal with the importance of data protection, privacy, and interception of communications.
